Rajasthan Royals have got a big relief as manager Romi Bhinder may get a light sanction or a mild warning after a show cause notice from the BCCI Anti-Corruption Board. This happened after the viral moment where he was seen carrying a mobile phone into the dugout during a live match.
Rajasthan Royals are in unbeatable form in this edition of IPL. However, despite their good form, some external concerns have threatened the integrity of the team. The Royals’ reputation has already taken a hit, as they have already been banned for two seasons for match-fixing.
The recent controversy involved team manager Romi Bhinder, who was caught using a mobile phone in the RR dugout. He was seen using the device while sitting with RR youngster Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who needs to be taught to be disciplined by his seniors in the team.
No serious action will be taken against the manager of Rajasthan Royals
Romi Bhinder is the RR team manager, and he is allowed to bring a phone inside the playing premises and can also use the phone if necessary, but he has been penalized for using the phone outside the designated area, which was the dressing room.
He was near the dugout, and it remained in dispute whether he was technically within it, and images later showed that he was sitting in front of a refrigerator, making him outside the designated area.
BCCI’s Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) show-caused the players for using mobile phones near the dugout. Formal sanction was not issued, and as per the latest reports from Cricbuzz he is unlikely to get one. However, he has confirmed that no serious suspension or ban is likely.
Rajasthan Royals manager to be relieved citing health reasons
The Cricbuzz report further claimed that the BCCI is considering the manager’s actions as imprudent and imprudent, but noted that he had no malicious intent and no intention of committing a breach.
“He also appears to have serious health issues. ACSU will take the final decision, but prima facie it does not appear to be a major violation,” the source said.
A BCCI source close to Cricbuzz also confirmed that he responded within 48 hours of being called by the BCCI and also apologised. He also informed the Board of his concerns regarding his poor health and the seriousness of his condition.
Rajasthan Royals lost no. First place for current champion RCB
This season, Rajasthan Royals led the points table with four consecutive wins. On the other hand, Royals finally ended their winning streak with a defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad after the uncapped pacers put brakes on the flow of runs from the Indian youngsters in the RR lineup.
Reigning champions Royal Challengers Bangalore also won four matches and now top the points table with eight points in the season. RCB has reached the top position, while the Royals have slipped to the fourth position. If Punjab Kings manages to win their next game, they could be promoted to the top, while RCB and RR will slip to the bottom.
