Australia and England are preparing for an exciting Ashes 2025-26, which is scheduled to begin in November. Optus Stadium in Perth will host the first match from 21 to 25 November and the second Test will be played at the Gabba in Brisbane from 4 to 8 December.

The third Test will be held at the Adelaide Oval from 17 to 21 December and the fourth Test will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) from 26 to 30 December. Furthermore, the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) will host the fifth Test from January 4 to 8, 2026.

Ahead of the start of the series, WWE brought its premium live event to Perth. WWE Crown Jewel features a stacked card with John Cena and AJ Styles reliving their famous rivalry one last time. Additionally, undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes took on World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, while WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton took on Women’s World Champion Stephanie Walker.

Another mega match that fans saw was between Adelaide-born Bronson Reed, a member of The Vision stable, and Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. There was a lot of hype surrounding the match following a brawl between professional wrestlers on the go-home Raw, and Reed claimed to be the first person to stretcher Roman Reigns.

Meanwhile, in an action-packed match at WWE Crown Jewel 2025, Reigns brought cricket fever to wrestling as he brutally beat Oszilla using a cricket bat and sent him out of the ring.

Watching Roman Reigns’ brutal performance with the bat, commentator Wade Barrett said, “He’s like Steve Smith here,” before comparing the former world champion to Ricky Ponting. Ultimately, Reigns was not able to pick up the victory as Bronson Reed scored the biggest win of his career via pinfall.

Chris Woakes predicts England to win the Ashes

Recently retired England fast bowler Chris Woakes, while speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, said that England has finally got a great opportunity to win the Ashes series. He elaborated:

“Going to Australia is a different experience. I hope the guys can go and do a good job and we have a very good chance this time. We have a lot of depth and a great squad. The players in the first XI, if they can stay fit and stay on the field then we have a lot of chances. Ashes cricket is played with more venom behind it but these players have played a lot of international cricket and know enough to know what it is.

“We’ve been building well over the last few years but haven’t been able to get over the line in a big series, but it can’t be bigger than this. We’re down because of competitive performances and these guys have got it in the locker.”
