Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians tenure ends? The report revealed the reality of KKR’s move.

There are rumors of former Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma moving to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) following the appointment of Abhishek Nair as the new head coach. However, the right-handed batsman is unlikely to leave Mumbai Indians before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season.

He also earned the Player of the Match award for his century in the third and final ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

On his YouTube channel, RepSports journalist Rohit Juglan It was confirmed that Rohit Sharma will remain with Mumbai Indians along with Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah. He dismissed any speculation about his possible transfers.

Juglan said, “Rohit is not leaving Mumbai Indians at this time. Neither Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya nor Jasprit Bumrah are going anywhere. You can note that.”

“For now, all four players will remain with Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, Abhishek Nair has joined Kolkata Knight Riders and he and Rohit Sharma have been training together extensively,” he said.

KKR’s cryptic post on X increases speculation over Rohit Sharma’s future

Speculation over Rohit’s IPL future began when Kolkata Knight Riders posted a congratulatory tweet celebrating his rise to the top of the ICC men’s ODI batting rankings.

KKR wrote, “On top of the world and deserves it. Congratulations, Rohit .” When a fan jokingly asked if this meant Rohit was joining KKR, the franchise replied, “Confirm the world No. 1 men’s ODI batsman.”

There were immediately mixed reactions on social media, with some calling it a light-hearted joke, while others suspected it was a subtle hint from KKR’s famously secretive social media team.

With the IPL 2026 mega auction just a month away, the post has raised curiosity among fans whether KKR’s message was merely congratulatory or a teaser of a possible blockbuster signing involving Rohit.

Sharma’s performance for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025
