Rohit Sharma’s childhood coach announces massive retirement

After Rohit Sharma’s brilliant innings in Adelaide and Sydney, his childhood coach Dinesh Lad on Saturday expressed happiness and claimed that the veteran batsman will not retire till the 2027 World Cup. This was Rohit’s 50th international century and his 33rd century in ODIs.

“The way Rohit batted today and contributed to India’s win, it was great to see today’s match. He will play the 2027 ODI World Cup and then retire after that,” Dinesh Lad told ANI.

Even when Kohli and Rohit spoke to Fox Sports commentators Ravi Shastri and Adam Gilchrist, both of them did not hint at any kind of retirement; However, he clarified that this was likely his last game on Australian soil.

Dinesh Lad praised Rohit and Virat a lot

Virat Kohli, who scored a brilliant 74* after being out for a duck twice in Perth and Adelaide. While giving his opinion he said that misunderstandings are happening every day regarding Virat. Kohli once again became famous as the master of chasing by playing brilliant innings while chasing the target.

He said, “He is someone who can shine anytime and anywhere. The way he played today, it feels good. Sachin had said in an event that Rohit and Virat will be the players who will break his records. It feels really good to see both of them getting close to his records.”

Rohit Sharma can claim the no. 1 place in place of Shubman Gill

Current Indian captain Shubman Gill continues to top the ICC men’s ODI batting rankings following his commendable performance in the format last year. However, Gill has been missing his best form since the Champions Trophy in this format.

After being named captain in Australia, Gill missed the mark on his first tour as captain of the Indian team. Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, stood strong as the highest run-scorer in the format with 200+ runs in the series and an average of over 100.

Rohit, who finished second in the rankings after his brilliant innings in the ICC Champions Trophy final, can now replace the current Indian captain at the No. 1 rank. The ICC rankings have not been updated yet.
