In scenes from the practice session in Adelaide, Indian selectors and head coach Gautam Gambhir were seen having a long chat with Indian youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal after Indian opener Rohit Sharma left for the team hotel. Due to this, speculations have intensified about including a left-handed batsman in the team in place of Rohit Sharma.
After the loss in the first match, India have taken things more seriously and have practiced hard for the upcoming match in Adelaide. However most of the sessions have been optional and only players willing to participate in them have come to the nets.
While players like Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli have skipped these sessions, former Indian captain Rohit Sharma has been practicing keenly in the nets and preparing for his comeback. He seemed committed to this tour, having worked hard to regain his fitness.

Unlike previous tours, Rohit looks different this time. The reason for this could be his eagerness to retain his position till the next World Cup despite being ignored as the captain of the Indian team.
He has taken part in all the optional sessions on this tour and was the first player to take the field and take part in the entire session, which included throwdowns and fielding practice as well as the batting session.
Rohit Juglan confirmed via RevSportz, “Rohit was again one of the seven players who came for the optional practice session. However, many players were not available there.”
However, what caught everyone’s attention was the long conversation between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Indian selector Ajit Agarkar and Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir.
This raises a question: Is Gambhir planning to drop Rohit to make room for young Jaiswal in the Indian ODI XI? Will wait for the answer till tomorrow.

Shubman Gill missed several practice sessions before Adelaide match
Another thing of shock for RevSportz journalists as well as Indian fans is the continued absence of Indian captain Shubman Gill. Gill is usually very regular at such practice sessions, even if all the players decide to skip them.
“Interestingly, Shubman Gill was not there. I don’t remember any tour where he missed two practice sessions. The missed session in Perth is understandable, as the flight was long and there were further delays, which caused the players to miss the session,” said RevSportz reporters.
“However, he is one of the few players who remains on route to India. He has to travel back and play another Test series against South Africa. We have seen him participate in optional sessions before, but this is a very rare occasion that he has missed consecutive practice sessions,” Juglan said.
After snatching the captaincy, Rohit Sharma is no longer the same man as before.
Just before this tour, Rohit Sharma was removed from the captaincy just before his return to the Indian ODI team. This may have affected his mentality, as Rohit clearly looked different in the public eye, although his attitude towards his teammates and the Indian management remained unchanged.
Rohit Juglan said, “He is not the same Rohit Sharma that we know. Yes, he is the same Rohit Sharma to his teammates, but in the eyes of the people, he is no longer the same lively person as before.”
“I don’t know what his mindset is right now, whether it is about losing the captaincy, because our sources informed us that he did not want to give up the captaincy. It was a forced decision by the team management, so that could be a factor. He is thinking about his future in the team or thinking about his retirement in Australia, that could also be the reason for Rohit’s change,” said RevSportz reporters.
