Rohit Sharma is all set to return as India captain amid a busy season. In fact, India may once again see a major change in leadership, as the team for the upcoming ODI and T20 series is expected to be announced on Saturday (November 22).
Shubman Gill, who became India’s new ODI captain in October and led the team in Australia last month, is all set to miss the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa. Gill suffered a neck injury on the second day of the first Test against South Africa and is yet to recover.

Along with this, India’s ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer is also out. Iyer also got injured while fielding in the third ODI against Australia and is set to be rested for the entire Proteas series at home.

According to CricketNext News18, with both Gill and Iyer unavailable, the Indian selectors are ready to hand back Rohit Sharma to lead the three-match ODI series against South Africa. The team is likely to be announced on Saturday.
