Dubai Capitals veteran all-rounder Gulbadin Naib claims that Indian legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been asked to play in all three formats of the game for four more years. Claims have been made for the return of cricketers for India in other formats also.

Ever since the two Indian legends were in doubt to retain their places in the Indian XI for the 2027 World Cup and were not in the plans of the selectors and coaches, many former cricketers and even current cricketers have shown their faith in them.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma also batted brilliantly and have lived up to their reputation with impressive innings in the two series played since their return. Now, the Afghan all-rounder has made a similar claim while supporting the Indian giants.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli again on top in ICC men’s ODI rankings

Rohit Sharma had a very good start to the Australia tour after maintaining his fitness during the long gap between the IPL and his much-awaited return to international cricket. Rohit Sharma was the best player of the series in Australia with 200+ runs and has scored 348 runs in his last 6 ODIs.

He reclaimed the top spot in the ICC men’s ODI batting rankings with his latest performance and veteran Virat Kohli soon equaled him with 302 runs in the South Africa series. With 376 runs in 6 matches, Kohli is just 8 rating points short of securing the top spot in the ICC men’s ODI rankings and is placed second.

As a defending champion, you have to play very clearly,” Naib claimed on expectations in ILT20

The current edition of ILT20 declares Dubai Capitals as the defending champions of the competition. Nabi admitted that there is always huge pressure to become champion of any tournament and then come back as defending champions in the league.

It becomes very important for the team to perform well and live up to the high expectations of the fans and players. However, the defending champions have not had a good start to the season, as they have already lost two matches in the tournament.

“Being a defending champion and coming back to the tournament as a champion. There are many things. The media also focuses more on you and your team. So, everyone’s eyes are on us. Just like we did last season. So, obviously, there is pressure. As a defending champion, you have to play very clearly,” Naib said.
