Rohit Sharma stopped Virat Kohli’s fan from doing the same after his century in Vijay Hazare Trophy; the video went viral

Rohit Sharma recently made a comeback to domestic Indian cricket with the Vijay Hazare Trophy game against Sikkim. The Indian great demolished Sikkim’s inexperienced bowling attack by playing a brilliant inning of 155 runs in just 94 balls.

The BCCI selectors asked every Indian player to be available for domestic tournaments in India when not on international duty. This series also did not spare great players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, even though they have retired from Tests and T20Is.

Rohit and Virat, who recently returned to the international arena with the ODI series against Australia and South Africa, have been the standout performers for India, scoring the most runs. Rohit was named the best player of the series against Australia, while Virat won the title against South Africa.

Rohit Sharma wins hearts with adorable gesture for a young fan

After the match between Mumbai and Sikkim ended with the leading franchise defeating the Sikkim team and Rohit Sharma playing a key role in the chase with a brilliant century, the former Indian captain won hearts with a lovely gesture.

Rohit walked with the team and a young fan ran from the sidelines to shake the Mumbai star’s hand. The child bent to touch Rohit’s feet; However, the great Indian stopped him and embraced him happily instead.

This little kid, a local Mumbaikar, wore Virat Kohli’s T-shirt with number 18 on his back and the Indian captain’s radiant love for him truly won hearts.

Rohit and Virat made a great VHT comeback

Playing for Mumbai for the first time since 2018, Rohit opened the innings with young Angkrish Raghuvanshi. Both the batsmen gave a strong start to Mumbai and Rohit Sharma completed the first half-century of his innings in no time.

Despite Raghuvanshi falling, he continued his attack single-handedly as Musheer Khan gave him strikes from the other end. Sharma played a brilliant inning of 155 runs in just 94 balls with a strike rate of 164.89 and 27 fours.

Along with him, Virat Kohli, who returned to the Vijay Hazare Trophy after a break of 15 years, also scored a century on his return. Kohli seemed to have maintained his best form from the South Africa series as he scored 131 to help Delhi chase the target of 299.

Rohit has almost finalized his place for the World Cup

Virat Kohli playing in the World Cup was never in big doubt as he is known for great fitness and great form, and is chasing the record of the great Sachin Tendulkar despite playing just one format. With the recent form he has shown, Kohli’s place seems confirmed.

However, Rohit also maintained his dominance while playing for Mumbai. Rohit Sharma scored two half-centuries during the South Africa series and hence, he secured his place in the ODI team. However, with his continued form in such dominance and Rohit’s flexibility again, it seems certain for the Indian legend to play in the 2027 World Cup.

Moreover, with the World Cup taking place in South Africa, the presence of two experienced Indian players will be monumental from their perspective.
