The opening batsman scored 16,137 runs in 386 innings as an opener and officially broke Sehwag’s old record of 16,119 runs in 400 innings. Rohit also broke this record and became the oldest Indian player to score a half-century in ODIs. He broke Mohinder Amarnath’s previous record of 39 years and 21 days.

Rohit was in good form in the series against Australia in Australia last year, scoring a century and a half-century in the match and finished as the leading run scorer in the series and also won the Player of the Series for his exceptional performance. In the ODI series against South Africa, he scored 180 runs in three innings.

His overall record in England makes him the leading run-scorer among all visiting batsmen in ODIs.
