A funny but intense moment unfolded in the ongoing third and final ODI between India and South Africa when Rohit Sharma suddenly lost patience with Kuldeep Yadav in Visakhapatnam. The incident came to light when Kuldeep Yadav delivered a beautiful turning ball to Lungi Ngidi.
The delivery swung sharply, beat Ngidi’s forward defensive push and hit his pads. For a second, it looked like a close call, and Kuldeep immediately felt he had a real chance. Excited and hopeful, Kuldeep turned to his captain KL Rahul for a review.

But Rohit Sharma, who had a clear eye on his delivery, did not feel the same. He immediately signaled Kuldeep to return to his bowling mark. Instead of stopping, Kuldeep tried once again, almost pleading for DRS as he believed the ball had done enough.

And at that time Rohit’s reaction surprised many people. The former Indian captain again completely rejected the wrist spinner’s request. He kept signaling Kuldeep to step back and concentrate on the next ball, as he felt the ball was heading down the leg side and was not worth the risk.

Rahul did not take DRS, but on the very next ball the acting captain almost appealed for LBW. Actually, the ball was quite full and Ngidi managed to push it towards the off side and Rahul believed that the ball had hit Ngidi’s pad or boot first, but there was no strong intent from Kuldeep and others, so India did not take a review against Ngidi.
Replays later showed that the ball had clearly touched the bat.
