In a video posted by Mumbai Indians on their social media handles, Rohit was seen trying to imitate Nair’s bowling action while Nair watched from the adjacent net.
The two have been teammates for Mumbai in domestic cricket in the past and have been very good friends ever since. Although Nair was primarily a batsman, he also occasionally bowled medium pace.
Nair also played for four different teams teams In IPL and started his career in Mumbai Indians in 2008. In 2009, when Rohit Sharma took his famous hat-trick in the IPL, he was one of the batsmen dismissed.
In the latest video, Rohit managed to uproot the middle stump while mimicking Nair’s bowling action.

Rohit Sharma in IPL 2026
Rohit Sharma has blown a bit hot and cold so far in this year’s IPL. Due to some injury troubles, he has played only 7 of his team’s 12 matches.
A toe injury against RCB kept him out for a while, followed by a hamstring problem, which meant that even when he returned, he would only play as an impact player and not be on the field for the full 20 overs.

The Indian national selectors are scheduled to meet in Guwahati on Tuesday to pick the squad for the one-off Test and three-match ODI series against Afghanistan next month.
According to reports, the Indian selectors are concerned about Rohit’s ability to field the full 50 overs, especially when he is unable to field 20 overs regularly in the IPL.
The final decision is expected to be taken based on his fitness.

Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders will face each other at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata on Wednesday.
