Rohit Sharma has been named the brand ambassador of the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the 2026 T20 World Cup. He is India’s winning captain in the previous edition of the competition, which was held in West Indies and USA. He ended India’s 11-year long ICC trophy drought.

Rohit was earlier seen as the opener for India against USA at the Wankhede Stadium. He was seen coming out with the T20 World Cup trophy and placing it on the podium before the match. He also sang the national anthem while standing with the umpires and match officials during that particular game.

The last time India faced Pakistan, the Men in Blue won the game by 6 runs as they defended 119 runs, the lowest in the history of India vs Pakistan in a T20 World Cup competition. This was the sixth lowest overall score defended in T20 World Cup history.
