Team India opener Rohit Sharma shared a post on social media after the third and final ODI against Australia, which took place at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday, October 25. The right-handed batsman said this could be his last appearance in international cricket on Australian soil.
Rohit played a match-winning innings in the last ODI against Australia. He scored unbeaten 121 runs in 125 balls with the help of 13 fours and three sixes, helping India achieve the target of 237 runs with nine wickets remaining. The 38-year-old was named Player of the Series for his performance throughout the series.
One Last Time, Signing of Sydney – Rohit Sharma
A day after the match, Rohit Sharma took to his social media account X (formerly known as Twitter) to bid goodbye to Sydney as this could be his last international visit to the city.
Rohit wrote, “For the last time, departing from Sydney.”

In the third ODI, Australia won the toss and decided to bat first but struggled to score a big score. Matt Renshaw scored 56 runs in 58 balls and captain Mitchell Marsh added 41 runs in 50 balls. The host team was all out for 236 runs in 46.4 overs. Harshit Rana took 4 wickets for 39 runs in 8.4 overs.
India started the chase with openers Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma adding 69 runs. After Gill was out on 24, Virat Kohli joined Rohit at number three. Rohit scored his 33rd ODI century, while Kohli contributed an unbeaten 74 runs. They made an unbeaten 168-run partnership for the second wicket.
Despite Australia winning the series 2-1, Rohit and Kohli’s brilliant partnership made headlines in Sydney. The pair will next play against South Africa on home soil in a three-match ODI series starting November 30 in Ranchi.
