In a major development, International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman Jay Shah has announced the great modern-day batsman and legendary captain Rohit Sharma as the brand ambassador of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
The development was officially announced by ICC President Jay Shah at a special event on Tuesday, November 25, in the presence of several officials from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

After announcing it at the event, Jay Shah told X that there would be no better representative for the event than the T20 World Cup 2024-winning captain.
“It’s my honor to announce that @ImRo45 is the tournament ambassador for the upcoming @T20WorldCup in India and Sri Lanka. There can be no better representative of the event than the winning captain of the 2024 @T20WorldCup and a player who has featured in all nine editions so far,” International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman Jay Shah wrote on Twitter.
