Indian wicket-keeper Batter Rishabh Pant, who has been struggling to a large extent with his injury since the tour of England, is fully prepared to make his comeback in the field with the Ranji Trophy coming from October 25. However, the BCCI’s medical team will be assessing their recovery, with sets as the date of their return on 10 October.

India is currently playing a home test series against the West Indies, and the wicket-keeper batter pants missed the opportunity for convenience in a home competition. He also missed the Australia White-Ball Tour and is expected to return to international cricket with the South Africa series. Dhruv Juraral has been planted as his replacement in forms.

Pants in conversation with DDCA president for Ranji Trophy return

It has been suggested in this report that Rishabh Pant has also talked to the current president of Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) Rohan Jaitley. He is probably citing the Ranji Trophy 2025, which begins on October 15, as a catalyst for his return to competitive cricket.

A top DDCA official told TOI, “Pants have said that they should be available for Ranji Trophy matches in Delhi from October 25. He has reported that it will be subject to fitness and clearance received from BCCI medical team.”

Ajit Agkar is expected to return Rishabh Pant for South Africa’s tests

Recently, announcing the squad for the West Indies 2-Match Home Series, the chief selector, Ajit Agkar said that Rishabh Pant is expected to return from South Africa’s trials.

“Regarding Rishabh, I don’t think he has enough to make this series. He will not be ready, but as I said, we hope that as long as South Africa comes around, he is 100% fit,” Agkar said.

Ravindra Jadeja has been appointed as Shubman Gill’s deputy in the home series, as regular vice-captains, Rishabh Pant, have missed the series. Jadeja has been rewarded for his huge experience and has scored 516 runs in the series in England.
