Team India wicketkeeper-baater Rishabh Pant is currently recovering from a foot fracture during India’s fourth Test against England at Old Trafford. The left-handed batsman will be expecting available for the upcoming two-match test series against the West Indies starting on October 2.
Pants maintained a foot fracture on 1 of the fourth Test of the five -match series between India and England at Old Trafford, while attempted reverse sweep from Pacer Chris Woakes. Southpo was excluded from action for six weeks. The series ended in the draw from 2–2. He also missed the ongoing Asia Cup 2025.

Rishabh Pant has made significant progress in recovering from the foot fracture released during the Manchester Test. There were concerns that surgery could be required, but the medical team decided against it after the rehabilitation process.

The 27 -year -old is now expected to achieve full match fitness in the coming weeks. Pant has returned to India after a small recovery in England. According to Revsportz, he will join the Center for Excellence next week to continue his rehabilitation and prepare for the upcoming West Indies Test series.

Rishabh Pant’s performance in England vs India 2025 Test series
Rishabh Pant was appointed as the vice-captain of the Indian Test team for the England Tour. He gave an impressive performance in England with bat in the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
The left -handed batsman scored 479 runs in four tests at an impressive average of 68.42, including two centuries and three half -centuries. He recorded the record of former India captain MS Dhoni for hundreds of most tested by an Indian wicketkeeper-better.
In the third Test at Lord’s, the pants suffered a finger injury, and Dhruv Juril handled the wicketkeeping duties. He then suffered a toe injury while trying to reverse sweep from Chris Woakes during the fourth Test.
Jurall had to step into a backup. The pants were excluded from the fifth and final test in the oval, and Narayan Jagadisin of Tamil Nadu was added to the squad as a replacement wicketkeeper.
Rishabh Pant remains India’s primary wicketkeeper in tests
India’s primary wicketkeeper remains in pants tests. His return will strengthen India after the loss of a disappointing domestic chain for New Zealand.
Pants have played 47 Tests and scored an average of 3,427 runs on an average of 44.51, including eight centuries and 18 half -centuries, with 159*the best score. India is expected to regain during home matches.
After the West Indies Test series, India will visit Australia for the three -match ODI series. Perth, Adelaide and Sydney will host ODI matches on October 19, 23 and 25 respectively. The five T20I matches will be held at Canberra, Melbourne, Hobart, Gold Coast and Brisbane.
Pants last played T20 IT against Sri Lanka in July 2024 and missed the latter series against Bangladesh, South Africa and England due to workload management. He was part of the ICC Champions Trophy, but did not get a chance to play XI.
