India scored five Test tons in a match for the first time in history, as Rishabh Pant shines
India slammed the five centuries in the Leeds Test against England – Yashasvi Jaiswal (101), Shubman Gill (147), Rishabh Pant (134), KL Rahul (137), and Rishabh Pant (118). This test was the first time in history when India scored five centuries in a match, and overall it was the sixth such example by any side in history. India also became the second party to achieve this achievement in a distant test after Australia in 1955 against the West Indies in Kingston after Australia.
Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant became the first Indian cricketer to register a 50-plus score in England and the second wicketkeeper-batsman in a Test match after Andy Flower.
After Virat Kohli (Adelaide, 2014), Rahul Dravid (Hamilton, 1999), Asanka Gurusinh (Hamilton, 1991), and Vijay Hazare (Edlide, 1948), he also became the fifth Asian batsman only. In particular, he became the first Indian batsman to achieve an achievement in England.
