The Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released a statement about the situation of injury of wicketkeeper-son Rishabh Pant on 2 (Thursday, 24 July) between India and England. According to the statement, Pant will not take wickets for the remaining part of the match Old Trafford in Manchester.
The 27 -year -old, on the early day, tried to reverse the reverse shot from Chris Woakes, faced the right to -leg injury. The ball took an inner edge and hit his right toe. He was unable to walk properly and left the field in the visual crisis. He had to stretch and later rushed to the hospital for a scan.
BCCI provides updates on Rishabh Pant’s position during day 2
The BCCI faced X (East Twitter) to share the pants, who had injured its right leg, will not take wickets for the rest of the match. Dhruv Jurael will capture wicketkeeping duties. However, the pants have re -included the team on day 2 and will be available for batting if necessary.

“Despite his injury, Rishabh Pant has joined the team on day 2 and will be available to bat as per the needs of the team.”

27 -year -old forced 37 to retire on 37 on day 1
Rishabh Pant was forced to hurt 37* (48) after injuring his toe. It is not clear whether he will bat again in the match. India currently leads the five-match series 2โ1 with a loss in Headingley and Lords. His only win came in the second Test in Edgbaston with a margin of 336 runs.
According to the Indian Express, the pants are advised to have six weeks of rest and will recall the final test at the Oval starting from 31 July. Ishaan Kishan is expected to join the squad in his place.
Kishan recently impressed in county cricket for Nottinghamshire, scoring 87 against Yorkshire and 77 against Summerset. He has played two Tests only for India, but on an average of 38.82, 60 has scored 3,611 runs in first -class matches, including eight centuries and 19 fifties.
Ravindra Jadeja dismissed the overnight score after adding only one run
India suffered an initial setback on 2 on the day of the fourth Test as Ravindra Jadeja was rejected for 20. The all-rounder was removed by Joffra Archer in the 85th over. Jadeja inspired the ball for a second slip, where Harry Brook completed a low diving catch.
Slip fielders moved a little further after some of the earlier edges of Jadeja and Shardul Thakur. Jadeja’s departure also left India for 266, which ended the hopes of a big innings from the in-form batsman.
At the time of writing, India was 306/5 at the crease with Sharadul Thakur and Washington Sundar. They are the final recognized batting pair for visitors. Ben Stokes became England’s most successful bowler so far, taking two wickets.
