India National Cricket Team Test Vice-Capten Rishabh Pant surprised the request of batting veteran Sunil Gavaskar for the Somarsault festival on Monday, June 23.
Rishabh Pant rejected Sunil Gavaskar’s request after hitting a back-to-back centuries in the first test of the five-match series against the England National Cricket Team in Handingley in Leeds.

Rishabh Pant plays historical knock
Entering the Test series against the England National Cricket Team, Pant KL was the most experienced batsman in the Indian team after Rahul.
Along with seniority on his shoulders, there was a burden of sub-captaincy, but he did not let his batting impress and showed sensational performances against the three Lions in both the Test series opener’s innings.
Pants combined their unconventional style of cricket with a cautious approach and broke a brilliant century in the first innings. He became the third Centurion in India’s first innings after Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill and ended with a score of 134 runs off 178 balls.
In the second innings, when the star wicketkeeper-batsman reached the beach, India was in a little trouble because Yashsvi Jaiswal, Sai Sudarshanan, and Shubman Gill went out without scoring.
Pants batted in brilliant fashion and made an important partnership with KL Rahul to put India out of trouble, put their team in a major position.
He completed his fifty fifty off 83 balls, with 8 fours, and was not satisfied with it. Pants then completed their second century of the match with 130 balls to make history.
After hitting the twin tons, Rishabh Pant took off his helmet and got soaked in applause before hugging a big hug from his partner KL Rahul. The veteran Sunil Gavaskar, who was in the stand, was happy to see the pants a ton and pointed to him to pull his trademark Somarasolt festival.
However, Rishabh Pant performed a separate festival and refused to request Gavaskar’s request, saying that he would do so next time.
