The third consecutive T20I win came last night (January 25) along with some updates on the injury to Rishabh Pant and others. On Monday, Team India won three consecutive matches against New Zealand at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati and won the match as well as the series.
While Team India and fans were celebrating the moment, there were several injury updates that could affect several state teams ahead of their fixtures for the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season.
Many stars of Team India including Rishabh Pant are struggling with injury concerns.
It was reported that, star players like Rishabh Pant as well as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shradul Thakur are still struggling with their injuries or health issues. These three star players are currently unlikely to play for their respective state teams in the upcoming Ranji Trophy round.
According to the report published by Times of India, Thakur is recovering from the calf injury which he suffered during the Vijay Hazare Trophy match, while Rishabh Pant is in Bengaluru at the BCCI’s Center of Excellence (COE) for the recovery process. The keeper-batsman put pressure on his team ahead of India vs New Zealand 1st ODI. Since then Rishabh Pant is out of action.
Star players struggling with injuries before Mumbai vs Delhi Ranji Trophy match
While Thakur and Pant are recovering from their injury problems, Jaiswal has a health issue, as reported. A few weeks ago the opening batsman had to be admitted to the hospital due to food poisoning. He had to undergo endoscopy and is still not completely fit. At present, the return of Shardul Thakur and Rishabh Pant as well as Yashasvi Jaiswal is full of uncertainty.
Quoting a source, the report claimed, “This problem has been with him (Jaiswal) ever since he was admitted to the hospital after Mumbai’s last match in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy in Pune, where he was suffering from severe food poisoning.”
Mumbai cricket team is facing another blow due to the injury of Akash Parkar. Although Parker will not play the next match for Mumbai, the return of key spinner Sams Mullaney will definitely give the team some moral boost.
For the next Ranji Trophy match, Mumbai will face Delhi on January 29 at the MCA Cricket Ground in Mumbai. In his last match against Hyderabad, Sarfaraz Khan was the hero of the match by playing a stormy innings of 227 runs.

He further claimed, “There have been two changes in the team for the match against Delhi. Shams Mulani has replaced Atharva Ankolekar, while D Suryansh Shedge has replaced Aakash Parkar. We have recalled Shedge as he has consistently performed well for the Mumbai Under-23 team.”
