Team India’s middle-order batter Rinku Singh has praised the head coach Gautam Gambhir before the Asia Cup 2025, which is scheduled to begin on 9 September. Rinku also said that by encouraging serious players and giving them freedom, creates a comfortable atmosphere in the dressing room.
Rinku Singh has been nominated for the Asia Cup 2025 in India’s 15 -member squad. He scored 108 runs for Merut Maveryx in UPT20 in Lucknow with eight sixes. A few days after the announcement of the squad, there was a knock. India will shut down its Asia Cup campaign on 10 September.

Speaking to News24, Rinku Singh said that Gautam Gambhir supported him during his Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) days. Rinku revealed that he enjoys music and even joins fun moments with senior players.

“He withdraws every player well. During my KKR days, he gives him a lot of support. He gives freedom to all the players and says that go play and whatever you want to do. You all know that he is aggressive, and a good thing about him is that he always likes to sit during the match.
He said, “It is not that he is always serious. He likes to listen to songs in the dressing room. Ramandip used to be a DJ in our room. He used to play songs and Gambhir preferred to make a quiet vib.

Gautam Gambhir took over as India’s head coach after Kolkata Knight Riders played an important role under Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy in the IPL 2024 Triumph.
The left -handed batsman began his term against Sri Lanka in the ODI series. India then suffered a Test defeat against New Zealand and Australia. However, the Indian team registered a win during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
In Blue, men showed fighting spirit during the five -match Test series against England. Shubman Gill-led side attracted the series 2–2 despite being traced 1–2 after three tests.
Gambhir will be expected to guide the team to win the Asia Cup 2025. He will once again join Rinku Singh, who is also part of India’s squad for the tournament.
Rinku Singh’s performance in franchise and T20i cricket
Rinku Singh had a success season in IPL 2023 with 474 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders. Singh made his T20I debut against Ireland in 2023. He played the knock that won several matches for India early, but was named a travel reserve for only 2024 T20 World Cup.
The left -handed batsman scored only 168 runs in IPL 2024, followed by limited opportunities at a decent strike rate in 206 runs.
Rinku has scored 546 runs in 33 T20s, on an average strike rates above 42 and 160. He was also a part of the 190-Run unbeaten stand with Rohit Sharma against Afghanistan in January 2024, where he scored 69 runs in 39 balls.
