Rinku Singh returned home in the middle of T20 World Cup

Team India is already facing problems regarding its performance in the 2026 T20 World Cup, especially batting. They have failed in almost every game and struggled on slow pitches in India. India did not have a good start in the Super 8 campaign and had to face defeat by 76 runs against South Africa.

In their next game, the Men in Blue will face Zimbabwe, ahead of the match Suryakumar Yadav’s team is once again on the backfoot as batsman Rinku Singh has gone back home due to a medical emergency. He was also not present during India’s practice session today.

Fans will hope that everything goes well, as India would not want their best finisher to be out of the tournament. According to reports, Kushan government is preparing to replace Yashasvi Jaiswal in his place if he does not return on time.

India have been battling off-field problems during the 2026 T20 World Cup, with Abhishek Sharma earlier ruled out due to a stomach issue and missing a match against Namibia. India’s sports composition will once again be affected by Rinku Singh’s return home. If Rinku doesn’t feature, they may need to bring in Sanju Samson.

Much of the emergency has not been confirmed yet, as the Men in Blue management will hope to return before Thursday, February 26, when the India national cricket team faces Zimbabwe at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. It is important for the defending champions to win this match to keep their hopes of the semi-finals alive.
