South Africa have been dealt a major blow as they face India without their star fast bowler Kagiso Rabada in the opening match of the two-match Test series at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
South Africa captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and invited hosts India, led by Shubman Gill, to bat first at the Eden Gardens. After winning the toss, the Proteas captain revealed the reason for Kagiso Rabada’s absence in the playing eleven for the Kolkata Test.
Kagiso Rabada ruled out of first test against India
Bavuma said that Rabada has been ruled out with a rib injury and Corbin Bosch has been replaced by Corbin Bosch in the South Africa XI for the first Test against India in Kolkata. “Rabada will miss the game due to a rib injury; Corbyn Bosch has come in his place,” Temba Bavuma said at the time of the toss.
