Ahmed, who has appeared in five trials so far, is expected to join the first choice spinner off-spinner Shoaib Bashir. Bashir faced a finger injury in July. Dawson was called back to the national team after his impressive county championship performance, but failed to repeat them in a Test match. In addition, the report claimed that all-rounder Will Jack Test Squad may have a second off-spinning option if England wants a cover for Shoaib Bashir.
