The recent round of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 was a day full of drama, records and big performances in many matches. The biggest blow to Puducherry was the match against Jharkhand, where captain Aman Khan had a forgettable day with the ball.
CSK’s Aman Khan creates unwanted world record for most runs conceded in List A history
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) new bowler Aman Khan’s name has been recorded in the record books for the wrong reasons. The Puducherry captain faced a nightmare in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, conceding 123 runs in his ten overs against Jharkhand.

This is officially the most expensive spell in the history of List A cricket, which has sent Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans into shock ahead of IPL 2026.
Record breaking spell: a recurring disaster
Aman Khan’s figures of 0/123 eclipsed the previous unwanted record of 0/116, set in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy just last week. Playing for Puducherry, CSK’s entire quota of bowlers was gone due to a brilliant performance by Jharkhand’s batsmen, which helped their team post a mammoth total of 368/7.
Chasing a tough target, Puducherry was all out for 235 inside 42 overs as Jharkhand won the VHT game by 133 runs on December 29. This was Puducherry’s third consecutive defeat in the ongoing tournament. On the other hand, Aman’s magic raises questions about his ability to deal with the high-pressure environment of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Aman Khan’s domestic and IPL journey
Aman began his List A career in 2021, making his debut for Mumbai against Saurashtra. In search of more opportunities, he later moved to Puducherry, where his all-round skills began to be noticed. He got the IPL spotlight in 2022 when he made his debut with Kolkata Knight Riders, followed by a strong stint with Delhi Capitals, where he was named Player of the Season in 2023.
His rise continued in the IPL 2026 auction, with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) buying him for Rs 40 lakh in the auction. In List A cricket, the all-rounder has taken 17 wickets and 319 runs in 16 matches, while he has 500 runs and 10 wickets in 32 matches in his T20 career.
His former team Saurashtra had to face a crushing defeat in a thrilling match of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. Saurashtra scored 320/7 thanks to Vishwaraj Jadeja’s brilliant 115 and Ruchit Ahir’s unbeaten 95 runs. Chasing the target, with the help of Priyansh Arya’s 78 runs and Navdeep Saini’s brilliant unbeaten 34 runs, Delhi achieved a tough win over Saurashtra by three wickets.
