South African veteran Graeme Smith has said that he would prefer Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to join the SA20 in the future. Former Protius captain is currently plying his business as the Commissioner of SA20.
South Africa’s premiere T20 competition has become a major hit among fans. Leading cricketers from all over the world are participating in the league every year, making it one of the most demanded T20 tournaments on the planet.

IPL team owners take control of Sa20
Due to its meteorite growth, SA20 is often called the IPL of South Africa. Another reason for this is the league association with many IPL franchises.
Many teams in the league are owned by IPL franchises such as Jobberg Super Kings, Mi Cape Town, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Durban Super Giants, Pretoria Capital and Parral Royals.

While six IPL franchises are directly associated with the SA20, RCB is yet to be associated with the tournament in any capacity. Bangalore -based franchise is one of the world’s most popular T20 teams.
The franchise is a major fan in South Africa, as well as many mythological cricketers from the country, such as AB de Villiers and FAF Do Plessis played for the IPL organization.
While only time will tell whether the Royal Challengers Bangalore join the SA20 or not, Graeme Smith has said that he would like to see the association. The former cricketer spoke before talking about RCB’s victory in the IPL this year before saying that he would prefer to watch RCB franchise in SA20.
“Even when I played for South Africa, it was surprising to see India’s love for the game and how they were behind RCB. I am sure the celebrations continue even after this victory. If we expand in the future, Bangalore franchise will be incredible. They are one of the strongest franchisees in the global game,”
SA20 wants to expand
Speaking further, Graeme Smith said that the league can expand by adding new teams after the fifth season.
Meanwhile, the auction for the upcoming season of SA20 took place recently. The main attraction of the incident became the most expensive player in the history of the Developed Brevis League.
The South African batting sensation was signed up by Pretoria Capital for R16.5 million (about Rs 8.31 crore). Aiden Markram also earned an attractive deal during the auction. The Protians Star was signed up by the super veterans of Durban for R14 million.
