The Karnataka High Court has ordered the state government to share a copy of the status report on the stampede of June 4 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. In particular, the court dismissed the petition to keep the report confidential, stating that they were only in facts as “facts” by the government.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won their first IPL 2025 title at the Narendra Modi Stadium on 3 June. However, the festival became tragic when a large crowd gathered outside the stadium in Bengaluru, killing 11 people and injuries of more than 50 others in the stampede.

According to a report by the Times of India, the Karnataka High Court asked the state government to make public the report on the stampede. In particular, the court dismissed the government’s petition to keep the report confidential.

The bench stated that privacy applies only in matters related to national security, public interest, or personal privacy – none of which were relevant.
The government has also been ordered to provide copies of the report to all the parties involved in the case, including Royal Challengers Bangalore Franchise, Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), and DNA Entertainment Network, RCB’s event partner.

Royal Challengers Bangalore finally ended their 18 -year title by winning their first IPL Trophy. RCB finished second in the League stage with nine wins and 19 points from 14 matches, finishing a top-two positions.
