Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has filed a petition in the Karnataka High Court on June 4, challenging the Union Administrative Tribunal (CAT) comments about the tragic Stamped in Bangalore. The tribunal had said that the franchise was Prima Feshi for 11 deaths.
Royal Challengers Bangalore won their first IPL title on 3 May, ending 17 years of waiting. The franchise organized a win parade the next day to celebrate the historic victory. However, the short notice gave the city’s administration very little time to implement adequate mob-control and safety measures.

The Central Administrative Tribunal recently released its first official statement on the tragic stampede. In particular, the tribunal stated that the franchise organized the program without obtaining prior permission, giving the officials very little time to prepare.

CAT approved any wrongdoing to the Bengaluru Police, given that it was unrealistic to expect law enforcement to manage such a large -scale incident with only 12 -hour notice. The tribunal referred to the functions of the franchise as a “nuisance”, leading to a fatal phenomenon.
“Suddenly, RCB created the above type of disturbance without any prior permission. It cannot be expected from the police that the Police will make all the arrangements required in the Police Act or other rules within about 12 hours,” a part of CAT’s statement, as quoted by India today.

Royal Challengers Bangalore said that the franchise was denied a proper opportunity to defend themselves before being convicted for the stampede. In its petition, RCB alleged that despite not being included as a party in the proceedings, it was wrongly “Prima Facial responsible”.
“Tribunal blamed RCB Prima Facial. Tribunal kept RCB contrary to natural justice, as RCB was not heard,” The Petition, Advocate Raghuram filed through Raghuram Cadambi, as reported by the bar and bench.
On June 4, about 300,000 people M. Chinnaswamy gathered outside the stadium, who was to watch RCB players after winning the IPL title. However, confusion and insufficient security system triggered a stampede.
Royal Challengers Bangalore finished 18 years of waiting for IPL title

The franchise made it in playoffs from 2020 to 2024, but failed to progress in the final. In 2025, Royal Challengers Bangalore finished second in league standing with nine out of 14 matches. He defeated Punjab Kings (PBK) to make it to the finals with a major eight wicket win in qualifier 1.
He won the title with a narrow six -run win over PBK. With this victory, silver Patidar became the first captain in the team’s history to raise the IPL Trophy, which ended for the franchise and his fans to break the heart of about two decades.
