Tribunal says that the police are not ‘God or magician’ to handle the crowd suddenly
The Central Administrative Tribunal criticized the lack of coordination in front of the celebration of victory, causing a deadly stampede. In particular, the tribunal said that the police were not given enough time to preparation for the crowd on a large scale, making the proper arrangement almost impossible.
The judgment said that it was unfair to expect the police to organize everything within just 12 hours. The tribunal commented that police personnel are not “deities or magicians” with immediate solutions.
“Due to the lack of time on 04.06.2026, the police was unable to make proper arrangements … The police cannot be expected that the police will make all arrangements within a short time of about 12 hours …”
