RCB restriction unavoidable! IPS proceeds with complaint on BCCI Stamped

The Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken major action on the Bangalore stampede by incorporating the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise and current champion, Bangalore (RCB) last month.

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s troubles are ready to deepen the IPL 2025 winners by the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) after being responsible for the large crowd, which caused a tragic stampede in Bangalore, where 11 people lost their lives on 4 June.

After CAT’s action, RCB has found itself in serious trouble. In fact, BCCI Lokpal and Ethics Officer, Justice (Rated) Arun Mishra have asked both RCB and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) to submit written reactions after a formal complaint about the IPS Bengaluru stampede incident.

The complaint accused both RCB and KSCA of gross negligence in handling the mob situation, causing stampede in Bengaluru last month. Both RCB and KSCA have been given four weeks to Ombdsman to present their related statements.

The complainant urged the BCCI Lokpal to stop any sales of the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise by its current owners, until the stampede investigation is complete, cited anxiety that it could affect the ongoing investigation in the tragic incident last month.

As mentioned by PTI, Justice Mishra wrote in his instruction, “Given the gravity of the incident, it is considered appropriate that Karnataka (State) Cricket Association, as well as concerned franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore should be asked to submit their written answers for complaints.”

The direction further states, “This complaint has been filed in connection with the unfortunate stampede at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on 04.06.2025. The complaint is accused of violating gross negligence and safety criteria for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchising and violation of security criteria. Sales talks.”

BCCI Ombudsman Blocks RCB sale Bangalore Stamped Investigation

The BCCI Lokpal has given Kumar 10 days to enter the resounder after receiving his response. One of the major concerns raised is the growing speculation that the current owners of the RCB may discover the possible sales of the franchise.

In the case of Stamped still under investigation, Justice Mishra said that the complainant has expressed his concern that this step could be an attempt to avoid accountability. In response, the Lokpal has instructed all the parties to maintain the current ownership status until the investigation ends.

This decision has been made to ensure transparency and prevent any party from avoiding possible consequences related to the Bangalore stampede tragedy.
