It seems that defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have jetted off to the Maldives for a holiday midway through IPL 2026.

RCB is currently placed second in the IPL 2025 points table with 6 wins from 9 matches. Their last match was against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on 30 April.

RCB players are not among the first group to leave for Maldives in IPL 2026. Earlier this week, Kolkata Knight Riders mentor Dwayne Bravo flew to Maldives and posted on his Instagram stories.

Last year, Delhi Capitals mentor Kevin Pietersen also left for the island nation midway through the IPL.

The defending champions are placed second in the points table in IPL 2026. With 12 points in 9 matches, RCB’s claim to reach the playoffs looks strong.

The Rajat Patidar-led side showed early dominance in the league before facing minor setbacks. Interestingly, RCB has repeated the sequence of two wins and then defeat thrice this season.

Currently the Purple Cap is occupied by RCB’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
