RCB coach leaves Josh Hazlewood out of IPL 2026 opener, leaves out Virat Kohli update

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) head coach Andy Flower has given a big update on the availability of star fast bowler Josh Hazlewood ahead of the opening match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.

Andy Flower said that veteran Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood will not be available for the opening match of the tournament against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Saturday, March 28.

Josh Hazlewood has been out of competitive cricket action for a long time. He missed the Ashes series due to hamstring and Achilles problems and is yet to regain fitness for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.

Speaking to reporters, Andy Flower said, “Hazlewood will not be ready for tomorrow. But we are keeping an eye on his fitness.”

Talking about legendary batsman Virat Kohli, Andy Flower said that he is super fit and ready to rock.

“Kohli looks super fit, the way he is timing in practice, he is on top of his game.”
