Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has fueled widespread speculation by deactivating his verified Instagram account. The unexpected move has fueled rumors about his future with Chennai Super Kings, especially amid reports of a possible blockbuster trade ahead of the mini-auction.
Chennai Super Kings are reportedly close to finalizing a mega deal that will see Ravindra Jadeja sent to Rajasthan Royals in exchange for Sanju Samson ahead of the mini-auction to be held in December.
The Jaipur-based franchise is in talks with the Super Kings on a proposed trade.
An official announcement is yet to be made. If confirmed, Jadeja will return to the Royals after 16 years, having been a part of their team during the inaugural IPL seasons in 2008 and 2009.

The all-rounder is known for his frequent social media activity and posts about his relationship with the Chennai franchise during the IPL season. However, following reports linking him to a possible trade involving Sanju Samson, fans rushed to contact him online, but his account was found to be inactive.
It is still unclear whether Jadeja had deactivated or deleted his profile, or if the disappearance was the result of a hack, but the timing has given rise to growing trade rumours.
Ravindra Jadeja has been a part of the Chennai Super Kings setup since 2012
Ravindra Jadeja has been a part of the Chennai Super Kings setup since 2012. He remained a key member of CSK’s core group during the mega auctions of 2018 and 2025. The all-rounder took over as captain in 2022, but his tenure was short-lived after a poor start to the season.
Over the years, Jadeja has played a key role in three of CSK’s five IPL title wins, including his unforgettable last-over heroics against Gujarat Titans in the 2023 final. He has scored 3,260 runs in 254 matches and taken 170 wickets.
For CSK, he is their leading wicket-taker with 143 wickets and shares the record of most player-of-the-match awards (16) with MS Dhoni. In the 2025 season, he scored 301 runs in 14 innings and took 10 wickets. Jadeja retired from T20Is after India’s 2024 World Cup win.
Chennai Super Kings created unwanted history in IPL 2025
The IPL 2025 season was one of the most disappointing campaigns for Chennai Super Kings, as the five-time champions finished at the bottom of the points table for the first time in their history. Notably, the team struggled to find momentum throughout the tournament.
Ruturaj Gaikwad suffered an elbow injury midway through the season, leading to the return of MS Dhoni as captain. However, his leadership could not change the team’s fortunes, as CSK managed just four wins in 14 matches.
As the team awaits the upcoming auction, rebuilding and regaining form will be their priority. Meanwhile, Rajat Patidar-led Royal Challengers Bangalore won their first IPL title in 2025.
