Former India of India of-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is allegedly set to make his debut in the Big Bash League (BBL) during the 2025-26 season. Tamil Nadu -born cricketers can become the first Indian male player with international experience playing in the league, as they are interacting with four BBL franchisees.
Ashwin retired from the Indian Premier League (IPL) on 28 August. The spinner expressed interest in the discovery of various T20 franchise leagues worldwide. They are expected to feature BBL and LT20 at the end of this year, allowing them to participate in both tournaments without struggle with schedule.

Ravichandran Ashwin is currently interacting with the four Big Bash League franchise for the late upcoming season. According to Espncricinfo, Sydney Thunder, Hobart Storm, Sydney Sixers and Adelaide Strikers are trying to secure their services.
Thunders and storms are emerging at the forefront. If a deal is finalized at the end of this week, Ashwin will become an internationally covered Indian male player for convenience in Australia’s leading T20 competition.
The BCCI allows only retired Indian players to participate in the foreign T20 league. Earlier this year, Dinesh Karthik represented Parl Royals in the SA20.
Ambati Rayudu played for St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in CPL 2013 and later in January 2024 for Mi Emirates in ILT20. Robin Uthappa and Yusuf Pathan depicted Dubai’s capitals in the LT20, while Suresh Raina played for Deccan Gladiators in Abu Dhani Tabri two years ago.

The report stated that Ravichandran Ashwin has committed the inauguration of the UAE for the ILT20 auction, which is scheduled on the next Tuesday. He can play in the tournament, which is going to be held from 2 December to 4 January.
The Big Bash League begins on 14 December, with group stage matches in the finals from January 18 and 20 to 25 January. The schedule allows Ashwin to participate in three to four late-se-BBL games, plus finals if his team qualifies.
The BBL teams can keep three foreign players per match, each franchise can already signed three via a pre-stable and a foreign draft in June. The teams may include four more players, which can make seven on the roster. Ashwin may also include an injury for SA20 as replacement.
Ashwin retired from IPL as the fifth biggest wicket taker
Ravichandran Ashwin Hong Kong Six is set to represent India in 2025, which is scheduled from 7 to 9 November confirmed by Hong Kong Cricket.
Ashwin retired as the fifth highest wicket -taker in the history of the tournament from the IPL earlier this year. He took 187 wickets in 221 matches at an average of 30.22 on an average. The cricketer also scored 833 runs with half a century. He has also taken 317 T20 wickets in total of 26.94.
The 39 -year -old first retired from international cricket on December 18, 2024. He ended with 765 wickets in 287 matches, including 37 five wickets. India’s second biggest wicket is going to be taken behind spinner Anil Kumbal.
Ashwin is a two -time IPL champion with CSK (2010 and 2011) and also won the Champions League twice (2010 and 2014).
