Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been the talk of the town ever since he scored a century in 35 balls at the age of 14 in IPL 2025.
His aggressive style in IPL 2026 has taken him and his game to the next level. Currently, Suryavanshi is the fourth highest run-scorer in this tournament and has also held the Orange Cap for some time.
In a recent interview with RevSportz, the former India and CSK offspinner Ravichandran Ashwin That said, the BCCI should try to give the 15-year-old southpaw a chance in the upcoming tours of Ireland and Zimbabwe.

So far, Suryavanshi has scored 254 runs in 7 matches at a tremendous strike rate of 220.86. He has also scored two fifties, both of which came in just 15 balls.
Suryavanshi has hit 26 fours and 20 sixes in just 115 balls in the IPL this year. This means that on an average he has hit a four once every 2.5 balls. 88.19% of his total runs have come from boundaries.
Ashwin has said that he feels that Suryavanshi will play for India one day.I have no doubt that Vaibhav will play for India. I think he will definitely do this. The main thing is to take it step by step. If you do that, he’ll have a really long career ahead,” he said.

When asked whether he thought or not Vaibhav Suryavanshi Ashwin can be successful in the international arena. Ashwin said that if given the right opportunity, this 15 year old player can perform well.
“This is Vaibhav’s second proper season in the IPL. Last year he performed very well and this year he has started well. I really like that kid and want him to do well,” Ashwin said.
He also said that the experience of international cricket will be good for Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He further added, “It is not a bad idea to try him in countries like Ireland and Zimbabwe. I think he will be successful. He will also face a lot of new situations, which is good for him.”

“I want to see him bat for the next 15-20 years” – Ravichandran Ashwin
Ashwin spoke in detail about Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s fearless batting and his extraordinary talent. Ashwin admitted that he was playing the ball without caring about the reputation of the bowler in front.
“He is a brilliant talent. He is clearly indicating that he is playing ball. It doesn’t matter to him who you are – if it’s within his range, it’s a go. He is an extraordinary talent. When such talent gets an opportunity, amazing things happen,” Ashwin explained.
Ashwin also said that an important aspect of the improvement in Suryavanshi’s game was exposure. He concluded, “For him, the more exposure he gets, the better he will become. I want to see him bat for the next 15-20 years.”
Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been the most important part of Rajasthan Royals, currently placed second in the points table of IPL 2026.
