India’s former World Cup winner Ravichandran Ashwin has come out in support of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, and made a bold comment that it is “impossible” for them to be dropped from the team after their stellar performances, and there is no one who can touch the two legends of Indian cricket.

Speaking on his YouTube channel ‘Aish Ki Baat’, Ashwin said that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma cannot be touched as they can play whenever they want, as they also have the experience and form to continue playing for India in the ODI format.
“They can’t touch both Virat and Rohit if they want to play. Why is that? They have the ability. They have scored runs. They are both batsmen, and they can’t touch them. If they touch them, if you look at the news of Rohit’s possible retirement, it was not an outside noise. If there is no fire, there will be no smoke,” Ashwin said.

Referring to Rohit, Ashwin raised the issue of discussion of retirement. Ahead of the Lord’s game, it was reported that Rohit is not in the selectors’ plans for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2027 and that last Sunday’s match will be his last for the India national cricket team.
Amidst all this, Rohit replied to his critics who doubted him as he scored a brilliant century at Lord’s and broke many milestones with his amazing 138-run inning, becoming the first Indian batsman to score a century at Lord’s and also the non-English batsman to score the most centuries in England. Virat also returned with an inning of 74 runs.
He said, “There was fire, but Rohit scored runs and he showed how it is done. There is no doubt about Rohit playing in the World Cup. They cannot touch both Rohit and Virat because they are batsmen. They have an army and a battalion of people coming to see them. If you show them the door, it will break the roof.”

Ravichandran Ashwin also pointed out that not selecting Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar will not create as much hue and cry as it would if the management ignored Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
“But when you don’t pick Siraj, Shami or Bhuvneshwar, only 10 people will ask about them. Maximum 1000 people will ask. Let’s say 10,000 people ask about them. But there will be no noise.
