Former India cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin rejected former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir’s opinion on Abhishek Sharma’s batting style. Aamir described the Indian opening batsman as a ‘slugger’ and refused to call him a pure batsman.
Ravichandran Ashwin tells through a YouTube video that Sharma’s bat swing is even better than Yuvraj Singh. According to Ashwin, the opening batsman has one of the most spectacular bat swings in cricket.

After the match, Ravichandran Ashwin said that it does not matter what people say about the batsman, he is not just a slugger, as he has the most commendable bat swing among all the cricketers around the world.
“You can say anything about Abhishek Sharma’s game, but he is not lazy. He has one of the most spectacular bat swings in cricket, even better than his mentor Yuvraj Singh. His only crime is showing intent on every ball”, Ashwin said on his YouTube channel ‘Aish Ki Baat’.

Ravichandran Ashwin issues advice to Sharma ahead of India vs West Indies match
Ahead of the India vs West Indies match, Ashwin gave some advice to the left-handed batsman. The former spinner advises the batsman to focus on timing the ball rather than generating extra power behind every hit.
Ravichandran Ashwin told the batsman, “Abhishek does not need to put power on his shots. If anyone is talking to him, tell them about the importance of timing the ball correctly.”
Like Ashwin, former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez also disagreed with Mohammad Amir’s assessment of the Indian batsman. Hafeez also said that Shamra is not just an alcoholic.
