Former Indian off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin Recently shared his views on the names of the best Indian fast bowlers in IPL history. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit BumrahAnd Sandeep Sharma as their top three choices.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ashwin highlighted the unique strengths of each bowler, while also pointing out the subtle differences in their styles. He admitted that although there may be a difference in pace and temperament between Bumrah and Sandeep, the effectiveness of the latter cannot be ignored.
Ashwin particularly praised Sandeep Sharma’s skill set, noting his ability to swing the new ball and execute variations such as the knuckleball. He also highlighted the temperament of the Rajasthan Royals fast bowler, especially in the high-pressure death overs, describing him as a bowler with immense character despite lacking obvious pace or flamboyance.
“There is a huge difference between Sandeep Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah. But the best three Indian fast bowlers in the IPL are Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Sandeep Sharma. Sandeep Sharma is very close to him. He swings the new ball, knuckleballs and Rajasthan Royals also favor him in the death overs because he has character. He is not flamboyant or bowls at 140 kmph, but is effective.” Ashwin said.
