Ravichandran Ashwin breaks silence on the ILT20 auction snub, the full-season secures the BBL deal

Ravichandran Ashwin has finally signed a full season deal with BBL team Sydney Thunder after being uncertained in the ILT20 trophy. He has clearly stated that in this stage of his career, he will not play if his price is not fulfilled.

East-India spinner was part of the ILT20 auction; However, he finished without any potential buyer and is now ready to play a full session in the Big Bash League. According to reports, Ashwin’s expectations were not met during the fourth edition auction.

Ravichandran Ashwin has revealed that he decided to get out of the auction due to the Thunder Deal; However, since he committed to the ILT20, he entered the auction, respecting his word.

“I was about to pull out a few days before the auction due to the Thunder deal, but since I was already committed to the Ilt20 that I would enter the auction, I honored my word. However, I did not agree to reduce my base value,” Ashwin said, as Cricbaz quoted.

As soon as the auction came to light, he was unusable in the first round of the auction and then withdrew his name from the remaining round. He had the highest number of registered players with a base value of $ 120,000. Ashwin quoted it as a bare minimum based on his standards.

“This price I wanted as a bare minimum, and I am happy not to play in this phase of my career, if my value is not fulfilled,” Ravichandran Ashwin told Cricbuzz. Known for its high standards, it can be the minimal that he expects.

Since Ravichandran Ashwin had already committed orally to the LT20, Sydney Thunder and Big Bash League agreed to give him a discount. He agreed that he would join the Thunder Side in the month of January.

“I signed up with Sydney Thunder for the entire season,” he confirmed. After snatching a contract in the ILT20, Ashwin withdrew from the forward round of the LT20 and signed a full-season deal with the Australian franchise.
