Jammu and Kashmir is ready to create history in Ranji Trophy. They are on their way to create a historic moment at the DR Bendre Cricket Stadium in Hubli. At the time of writing, on Day 5 of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 final, Jammu and Kashmir is leading by 574 runs against star-studded Karnataka.
Former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin congratulated the Jammu and Kashmir cricket team in advance. In a long social media post, the former cricketer highlighted the importance of domestic cricket, especially the Ranji Trophy tournament.

Aspiring players go through a tough phase with the dream of representing the national team in the future. Domestic tournaments are considered essential steps to enter the national cricket team camp. There are many cricketers who went on to play for the national team after proving their worth in the Ranji Trophy. Ashwin says that in the coming days, someone from this team of Jammu and Kashmir will definitely get a call to join Team India.
Ravichandran Ashwin wrote on his ‘X’ post, “It has paved the way for cricketers like Jaydev, Harsh Dubey (India A), Rajat Patidar, Karun Nair and Axar Patel to play for India in white. In time, Jammu and Kashmir will also get to see representation from this championship-winning team.”

Ravichandran Ashwin also believes that, over the years, successful teams have achieved their goals in a unified manner. As the teams found success through pure team play, some of their teammates got the opportunity to represent the Men in Blue brigade.
“Saurashtra, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and now Jammu and Kashmir have won the Ranji Trophy in the last decade. These teams have found a way to prepare well while keeping a unified goal in mind as a team… This serves as a reminder once again to cricketers from the rest of the country, that if they stand together and play unitedly with the Ranji Trophy title as a goal, they or at least their teammates Can play for the country”, Ravichandran Ashwin also wrote in his social media post.
Saurashtra, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and now Jammu and Kashmir have won the Ranji Trophy in the last decade.
