KL Rahul Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy is in the top form in 2025
Rahul is currently the most Indian batsman in the Test squad. The retirement of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma meant an additional responsibility on Rahul’s shoulders to lead the team in the batting department.
So far, Rahul has not disappointed because he has batted quite well while opening the innings with young left -handed batsman Yashsvi Jaiswal.
In the first Test match at Headingley in Leeds, Rahul scored 42 and 137 runs, and followed it with a score of 2 and 55 in the second Test match at Edgbaston, Birmingham.
In addition, in the third Test match at Lord’s in London, Rahul scored 100 and 39 runs in two innings due to losing. Overall, he has scored 375 runs in six innings, including two centuries and one and a half centuries, and Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant and Jamie Smith are the fourth highest run-goat-goat in the series behind.
With that kind of talent, those who were angry were not giving – Ravi Shastri
Speaking on the ICC review, the former head coach of India said that KL Rahul’s best Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy has been seen in 2025. He said:
“I think there was not a person in the world who denied his ability and said that he [Rahul] Was not talented. With that kind of talent, those who were angry were not distributing. And in this series, you are looking at Rahul’s best. ,
Ravi Shastri also highlighted a technical twice made by KL Rahul, which has helped him to improve his stability. He said:
“What I am seeing is a minor adjustment that he is made with his front leg, in his stance and while defending it. It just opens slightly, which allows his back to come through cleanliness. Even when he is hitting it to the mid-wicket, it is the full face of the blade.”
“He does not need to close the blade’s face, and will fall and get into trouble as he used to use in the past. He first got out of the leg, exiting the bowling, he reached far and far and then got out of the leg.”
So whatever average should be close to 50 – Ravi Shastri
Ravi Shastri further said that KL Rahul is a technical sound batsman and even in situations where the bowlers help, he is fully equipped to deal with it. He said:
“He is technically sound, he has been as good as someone. In particular, it is not much moved in the series, but when it moves, he has the game to take care of that movement.”
Rahul has so far scored 3632 runs in his Test career at an average of 35.3, which does not justify his talent. According to Ravi Shastri, the 33 -year -old is in his prominent form and should end his career with an average of about 50. He said:
“He is on his chief. He has got to make a count for the next three, four years. And I am receiving a lot of hundreds because he is playing a lot of cricket in India. So whatever average he should be close to 50.”
