All the teams of the Indian Premier League (IPL) have recently released their retention list for the 2026 season. The remaining spots will be filled in the IPL 2026 mini-auction, which is scheduled to be held in Abu Dhabi on December 16. Ravi Bishnoi was among the players released ahead of the auction.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) unexpectedly released Indian leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi ahead of the IPL 2026 auction. Bishnoi, who has taken more than 72 wickets in the IPL, has been one of the most promising young spinners of the tournament.
Many teams are eyeing Ravi Bishnoi after his sudden exit from LSG.
Despite retaining Bishnoi for Rs 11 crore last year, Lucknow Super Giants decided to let go of the young Indian leg spinner after a tough 2025 season, where he could only take 9 wickets in 11 matches.

Even though his last season wasn’t his best, several teams are already showing keen interest in him. Bishnoi’s talent, international exposure and ability to control the middle overs still makes him a valuable asset.

Yuzvendra Chahal drops a big hint about Ravi Bishnoi’s IPL future
Meanwhile, a light-hearted Instagram live session between Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravi Bishnoi has suddenly created a huge stir. During their fun conversation, Chahal jokingly teased Bishnoi by saying that he might play for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the next IPL season.
Chahal said during Arshdeep Singh’s Instagram live session, “Bishnoi, I feel that you will go to Rajasthan in IPL.”
Bishnoi laughed it off and did not go against Chahal’s instincts, further fueling the speculation. He said, “So the BS won’t go against your feelings a bit.”
After this, Chahal teased Ravi and said that if he did not listen to him then maybe he too would play only domestic cricket like him, he took a light-hearted dig at himself. Sending a loud and clear message to the Indian selectors, Chahal told Bishnoi, “Go brother, otherwise you will keep playing domestic woe like me.”

This playful exchange has now sparked huge discussion online, with many wondering if Bishnoi is actually joining the Royals. With the IPL 2026 mini-auction around the corner and Bishnoi already one of the most popular names in the market, this friendly banter has only increased the speculation.

Yuzvendra Chahal continues to grind in domestic cricket
Notably, the Indian leg spinner is currently a part of Punjab Kings (PBKS), and previously, he was a part of Rajasthan Royals (RR). He had a remarkable stint with RR, yet he was not recalled from India. He last played for India against England earlier this year.
Even Chahal’s last season with PBKS was impressive, he took 16 wickets and helped the team reach the final. Still, this leg spinner is being continuously ignored, but he still has not given up.
This Haryana bowler is working hard in domestic cricket and plays whenever he gets a chance. He is currently playing for Haryana in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025.
