Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi has been released from his former franchise Lucknow Super Giants and was recently seen with an RCB player, fueling speculations about his joining.
There is great importance for spinners in IPL as they often come in handy at many places across India. Bishnoi is an option that almost every franchise will be keeping an eye on, especially when LSG released him for the mini-auction.
Bishnoi did not have a great season with Lucknow Super Giants as Digvesh Rathi rose to the occasion. He took several wickets in the season to overtake Bishnoi as LSG’s leading spinner.

Probably, it was Jitesh Sharma who was traveling with Bishnoi in the car. However, it is highly unlikely that Bishnoi will be picked by RCB in the auction. The Challengers already have Suyyash Sharma as their lead spinner, and Krunal Pandya has supported him very well in the past and is expected to continue his form.

Ravi Bishnoi has played 77 IPL matches in a career spanning 6 seasons, in all these seasons he has played for Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants.
Over the years of playing the IPL, Bishnoi has not only been a brilliant fielder but also a tremendous performer on the field. Bishnoi is known for his quick reflexes, and despite his short height, he has impressive reach for India.
Bishnoi has taken 72 wickets in his career, while his best seasons came with Lucknow Super Giants in 2022 and 2023, when he took 13 and 16 wickets respectively. Considering the Ikana track, which doesn’t offer much for spinners, their record is impressive.

Bishnoi offered him a base price of Rs 2 crore. This meant that Ravi Bishnoi would need to be attracted by teams with significantly higher purses.
Teams like Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals are looking for a spinner like Ravi Bishnoi, who has been a standout spinner in the LSG XI.
However, such a high base value would be a concern for him, as he had a very inconsistent season. Last season, players like Bishnoi and Venkatesh Iyer failed to deliver promising performances, and hence, could not be bid on in the auction due to the high price tag.
