Former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif has accused India and Pakistan of match-fixing during the Super 4S match between the ongoing Asia Cup 2025.

This was the second meeting among the bitter rivals in the ongoing competition. At the group’s phase, India faced a 7 -wicket defeat on Pakistan before winning Super 4S Clash by six wickets.

Pakistan lost to India twice

Unlike the group stage match, where they could score only 127 runs, Pakistan performed well with the bat in the Super 4S match.

India’s fielders endured a terrible day on the field and left several as four regulation catch, Pakistan posted a total competitive total of 171/5 in 20 overs allotted.

Opener Sahibzada Farhan, who was dropped in the first over, took the most advantage and scored fifty for his side.

Abhishek Sharma collapsed Pakistan

However, his efforts eventually became wasted as India easily pursued the clan. Opener Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill shared Pakistan 105 runs for the first wicket and dropped it out of the competition.

Gill scored 47 runs, while Abhishek scored 74 off 39 balls with the help of six fours and five sixes. India eventually crossed the finishing line in the 19th over.

Rashid Latif accused of match-fixing

After Pakistan’s defeat, Rashid Latif has come up with a sensational claim, saying that the match could be decided.

Former cricketers, who are known for making baseless and derogatory claims, said that Pakistan batsmen deliberately slowed down in the second half of the innings.

Pakistan struggled to perform well with the bat in the second part of the innings. Sahibzada Farhan and Sam Ayub placed their team on the driver’s seat with a 72 -run stand for the second wicket.

When Ayub was dismissed in the 11th over, Pakistan was at 93/2 and was in luck to post a total of 190-plas. However, India’s bowlers performed well to limit them to 171.

While the bowlers of India pulled back things in the second half of the innings, Rashid Latif said dishonestly that the match could be decided.

Earlier, in an interview with The Times of India, Rashid Latif expressed surprise at losing speed on Pakistan with the bat.

“Pakistan was batting so well, how it suddenly got spoiled? You didn’t even try to be aggressive. They gave up. They did not try to attack in the middle over? I don’t know,” Latif said.

“Sahibzada Farhan and Hussain Talat shared a 17 -run partnership in 17 balls. Farhan scored 6 runs, and Talat scored 10 runs. At that time, Pakistan was under control. You were under control.

Meanwhile, India has already booked its place in the Asia Cup final with a win over Bangladesh earlier this week. On the other hand, Pakistan will face Bangladesh in the do-or-dai match on Thursday (September 25).
