Months after India won the Asia Cup title, the Mohsin Naqvi-BCCI dispute is still not over. Even after becoming the champion by defeating Pakistan in the final, the Indian national cricket team has not been able to get the Asia Cup trophy and this matter has once again come before the BCCI.
BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla revealed that the board has repeatedly requested the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) to hand over the trophy, but there has been no response from president Mohsin Naqvi and other board officials.

Asia Cup trophy controversy erupts again!
The controversy started after the final of the Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai, where India defeated Pakistan to win the title. During the presentation ceremony, the Indian team refused to accept the trophy from ACC president Mohsin Naqvi, who also serves as both the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman and Pakistan’s interior minister, in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack in 2025.
He requested that another ACC official conduct the ceremony, but Naqvi refused and the presentation did not go as expected. Later Naqvi left the Dubai International Stadium with this, which created a big controversy after the final. It is being said that the trophy has been kept at the ACC headquarters in Dubai.
Rajeev Shukla made shocking revelation on Asia Cup trophy controversy
Now, Rajiv Shukla revealed that despite becoming champions, India still has not officially received the Asia Cup trophy. However, the BCCI Vice President made it clear that the entire cricket world knows that India has won the tournament and they will remain champions, even if they have not received the trophy yet.

PTI quoted Rajeev Shukla as saying, “As far as the Asia Cup trophy is concerned, we have requested the Asian Cricket Council president and directors to hand over the trophy. But there has been no response yet. We have spoken to them, but what does it matter if we don’t hand over the trophy? The world knows we have won there. But we have not got the trophy yet. We are trying to get it. We have won.”
Rajeev Shukla makes bold prediction after India’s T20I defeat against England
Meanwhile, Shukla also supported the India national cricket team after its disappointing performance in the ongoing five-match T20 series against England. Despite a series of embarrassing defeats in Ireland and England, he expressed confidence that the team had enough talent to make a strong comeback in the remaining games.
He also backed India to eliminate England in the ODI series. “There are still two matches left in the series. I think our team will do very well. We have a lot of talent in our team. Our team is in form. It doesn’t matter if we lose one or two matches. We will do well in the future. There are three ODIs after the T20 matches. I think we will win all of them,” the BCCI vice-president said.
Rajeev Shukla breaks silence on Vaibhav Suryavanshi after England accident
He also talked about teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, saying that his career should not be defined by a few poor performances. Shukla believes that this young player has immense talent and that is why he made it to the national team.
“He is a very talented player. I hope he has a good performance. He made a mistake that day. He has the potential and that is why he has got the chance. He is in the Indian team now. So, you will see the matches in the future,” Shukla said.
