Rajasthan Royals Samson-Jadeja deal is stuck midway due to the involvement of a foreign player Sam Curran in this deal. Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals initiated a swap deal between two great players.

The deal included two stalwarts from both the teams as the Super Kings looked to strengthen their top order with an Indian wicketkeeper batsman and Rajasthan Royals, who had faltered in chasing the target in the death overs.,

The much-hyped Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings deal, which includes Sanju Samson and Ravindra Jadeja from both the teams, is yet to be executed despite a period of 48 hours since the deal was initiated.

Both teams have not yet received a formal request for approval, It is understood that the delay is a procedural complication due to the involvement of a third player in the deal, who is abroad.,

The Royals’ overseas quota has already been reached; Therefore, they cannot accommodate Sam Curran without taking him off their roster.,

So, as a result, the swap of Sanju Samson and Ravindra Jadeja between the two teams may not be completed, and the Royals cite the 15th November deadline as when they can release their previous players.

Sri Lankan players will be sold before the mini-auction

The Royals appear to have a wide range of cricketers in their overseas pool, which includes Jofra Archer, Shimron Hetmyer, Wanindu Hasaranga, Mahesh Theekshana, Fazalhaq Farooqui, Kwena Mafaka, Nandre Berger and Luan-Dre Pretorius, apart from 14 Indian players.

Sam Curran’s price has been set at Rs 2.4 crore, and the Royals have just over Rs 30 lakh, which is not enough to acquire the services of the English all-rounder.

The Royals currently have 22 players and still have a few more spots left in the team, which can be filled by three more players, while the allowed squad strength is 25. The release of Mahesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga could potentially make way for Samson in terms of both a team place and the required funds.

If released before the mini-auction, the Sri Lankan pair can bring a purse of Rs 9.65 crore to the Rajasthan Royals camp.

Ravindra Jadeja can be the next captain of RR

According to some reports, the experienced CSK all-rounder can be made the next captain of Rajasthan Royals. Riyan Parag is always considered to be the next captain of RR, as he captained in the absence of Samson last season.

Later, along with Parag, names of other players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel also came up in the captaincy debate, but nothing official was made from the Royals camp. After Samson’s release, they will be looking for an experienced leader, and Jadeja will be the most capped player in the team.

However, the deal is currently on hold and cannot be worked out until the Royals release some of their overseas players.
