Rajasthan Royals (RR) opening batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s father, Sanjeev Suryavanshi, revealed about his son missing his Class 10 exam. Sanjeev clarified that the 14-year-old player will be skipping his Class 10 exams this year to focus on the upcoming IPL season and added that Vaibhav is already training with RR players.
The 14-year-old batsman was supposed to appear for the exams on Tuesday, but decided to focus his attention on cricket. He was last seen in action during the U19 World Cup 2026, where he played a key role in India’s title-winning campaign. Vaibhav is now preparing to represent the Royals in IPL 2026.

Sanjeev Suryavanshi revealed the reason behind his son skipping the Class 10 exam. He told that Vaibhav Suryavanshi is currently training with the players of Rajasthan Royals in Nagpur. Sanjeev said that Vaibhav has chosen to appear for the exam next year.
Sanjeev told Mid-Day, “My son is practicing in Nagpur with the Rajasthan Royals IPL team members. There was a lot of hype around his exams this year, so he has decided to skip the exams and will take the exams next year. If he had attended the exams, he would not have been able to concentrate.”

Sanjeev Suryavanshi said that his son was a good student before fully committing to cricket. He said that when Vaibhav went to school regularly, he regularly got more than 90 percent marks in all subjects, but now he is completely focused on cricket, which is his main priority.
Sanjeev said (via the above source), “When Vaibhav was a regular in school, he was good in studies. He used to get above 90 percent marks in all subjects, but now his priority is cricket.”
Vaibhav has excelled in all formats last year. His average is over 44 in List-A cricket and over 41 in T20. In eight List-A matches, he has scored runs at a strike rate of 164.95, while in 18 T20 matches, he has scored 701 runs at a strike rate of 204.37.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi skips Class 10 exams to focus on IPL 2026 preparations
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who lives in Tajpur, Bihar, is a student of Modesty School and was to appear for the Class 10 board exam from February 17 to March 11. However, he has opted to focus on preparations for the upcoming Indian Premier League season.
Vaibhav has started training for IPL 2026 starting from March 26 and is expected to play a key role for Rajasthan Royals. The franchise signed him in the IPL 2025 auction, and he made an immediate impact in the second half of the season.
The youngster grabbed attention by playing a brilliant inning of 101 runs in 38 balls, which helped Rajasthan Royals achieve the target of 210 runs against Gujarat Titans in just 15.5 overs. He also impressed at the Under-19 level and scored 175 off 80 balls during the final against England as India scored 411/9 in 50 overs.
