Rajasthan Royals are considering appointing a new skipper from the upcoming edition of IPL in 2026 if the current captain, Sanju Samson, decides to participate with the franchise.

Sanju Samson’s RR career
Samson joined the Rajasthan Royals back in IPL 2013, and since then, his performance in the history of the Indian Premier League has been remarkable. His dominance in the IPL earned him his first Team India call-up in 2014 and made a T20I debut against Zimbabwe in 2015.
As soon as he returned in 2018, his main tenure began with Royals, as he was selected in Mega-auction and has been with him since then playing the role of captaincy in 2021. In the second season of his captaincy, Royals made it in the final of the 2022 season.
Sanju Samson is the highest run-goldter in the history of IPL for Rajasthan Royals, as he has 4027 runs in 149 matches. As a captain, he won 33 wins in 67 matches.
