Rahmat Shah writes his name in the record books with big Test milestone against India

Afghanistan national cricket team batsman Rahmat Shah created history on the second day of the ongoing one-off Test against the Indian national cricket team at the Maharaja Yadvendra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh on Sunday (June 7).

The right-handed batsman became the first Afghanistan player to score 1,000 runs in Test cricket. Rahmat achieved a historic feat by hitting a four in the ongoing only Test against India.

The historic moment came when Indian spinner Manav Suthar bowled the ball outside the off stump and Rahmat attempted to drive it through cover. However, the ball took a thick inside edge and fortunately, the ball missed the leg stump and headed to the fine leg boundary.

With no fielder deployed at fine leg, the ball crossed the boundary line comfortably and Rahmat completed 1,000 Test runs, becoming the first Afghan cricketer to achieve the feat.
