Rachin Ravindra maintained a major lacquer for his upper lip and nose area – Rob Walter
New Zealand and Australia are set to close the horns with each other in a three-match T20I series at Bay Oval in Mount Maunaganui on 1 October, 3, 3 and 4.
However, before the series, he has lost many players to injuries, with the latest one Rachin Ravindra, who enjoyed a brilliant run with bat in T20I in 2025, scored over 30 score in the last five outings.
Prior to Rachin Ravindra, Michelle Santner (stomach injury), Will O’Rurke (behind), Glen Philips (Growen), Finn Alan (leg), adam milne (ankle (ankle), and lickie fanguson (Hamstrings) also suffered injuries.
Meanwhile, in an official statement issued by NZC, it was mentioned that the young all-rounder collided with a circumference border hoarding during fielding exercises. Even though Rachin passed the convention test, he faced a facial length, which required stitches and would take time to fix it.
Kiwi’s head coach Rob Walter said he is disappointed to lose Rachin Ravindra for the series and hopes he is fit for the upcoming England series. He said:
“We are all really disappointing Rachin to be forced to remember the series. They maintained a major lacquer in their upper lips and nose area, requiring experts and complex stitching and it would take time to fix it.
“Rachin is clearly an important player for us, but his health and good is our top priority, and so it was decided to send him home to recover with an eye to be available for England series in two weeks time.”
James Neesham replaced Rachin Ravindra in the squad
New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has nominated James Neesham as a replacement of Rachin Ravindra in the T20I team for the Australia series.
Talking about this, Rob Walter appreciated the pace-bouling all-rounder and said that he brings a pile of experience with himself that would help the team in the Chapel-Hydali Trophy. He said:
“We are lucky that we are capable of calling Jimmy that brings all its experiences and all-round abilities. It is going to be a big night at Bay Oval and I know that we are eager to get all the chapel-hudge.”
Trophy in the name of my family is a tremendous honor – Sir Richard Hadley
In an official statement issued by NZC, Sir Richard Hadley said that a trophy in his name has a tremendous honor and advised to perform Michael Bracewell -led side well and bring the trophy home.
Hadley said, “It is a tremendous honor to have a trophy in my family’s name and it is very good to listen to the players.”
“In any sport between New Zealand and Australia, rivalry is always there and this is definitely a history between sides for cricket. We have always been a little less teams and we have got to lift our game to be better than the elder brother.”
“Michael Bracewell and Message to the team to play without any fear. There should be no fear against Australia – such a thing is gone and you have to beat the best to be the best.”
